In light of the sunny weather beating down on us, and my recently acquired large quantity of B.C. Blueberries (and the fact that we have Texan house guests who aren’t all that keen on fruit!) I think I will be making a cool treat. For the vegans and paleos amoung us, sub in soy ice cream for frozen yogurt and you will be just as satisfied. For a great way to cool down, and a simple summer dessert this recipe is a sure fire hit.
Just snagged a 5kg box of B.C. Blueberries.
Blueberry Fact: Tufts University did a study that looked at the antioxidant levels in 20 different fruits, and blueberries came out on top as the ultimate super fruit. (http://www.tuftshealthletter.com/)

Today I am lounging in my back yard, basking in the sun with a good book (and my research project that I should really be doing rather than reading When God Was A Rabbit). So for lunch I wanted only to step back in doors for a few minutes, so I whipped up one of my favorites Tomato Avocado Toast.
Okay for us clean eating pervades into every part of our life. This is the soap we use. It is amazing and made locally in our hometown of Victoria but also sold across Canada and in the U.K. It makes me smell like a cookie, and is free of any chemicals or animal products. amazing.
Some of you may already know but the Crossfit Games are on this weekend. I am sitting here watching this years events, remembering how I sent my hubby to compete in last years games. Good luck to all the competitors this year!
Watch them live: http://games.crossfit.com/finals/live/jumbotron

It is hot out today so this morning I am cooling down from my workout with a matcha smoothie, while watching the CrossFit games. Remembering last year when I sent my hubby to compete :) P.s. swap out the yogurt for soymilk and you have yourself a more Paleo friendly smoothie.

Well today was a busy Sunday afternoon of paper writing, family visiting and house cleaning. So we didn’t have a whole lot of time for dinner before we had to dash out for church. So we decided to whip up on of every university students go-to meals -Spaghetti. However our spaghetti has a little twist, and is appropriate for you Paleos in the crowd. It is pasta free! (Hint: add lean turkey meat balls for you carnivores in the crowd)
It's great to have you back :) I can't wait for the old recipes to come back!
Thanks so much! They will be making their appearance back as I cook them up! Starting tonight with Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti

Hey Renee :). I love looking at this blog, thanks for bringing it back! Small note: it's hard to read white letters on a light background.
Peace+love
So true!! What do you think now? Better?
Thanks to those of you who are helping spread the word that we are back :) We appreciate all your efforts in rounding up old Cook Clean Fans!!
Remember them? They have started over, fresh and new!

Well as many of you know these past few months have been chaos between prepping for the GRE, finishing up my university degree and one very very long practicum experience. At the height of my craziness I (very regretfully) decided to take a break from the Cook Clean Blog and in the process deleted all my delicious posts. However as of Thursday at noon I finished the GRE, and my summer can begin. With that I will be back in the kitchen doing what I love. So it is my hope that some of my loyal readers who so enjoyed my cooking will find their way back. In the meantime I thought I would start off the Cook Clean Blog 2.0 I would share with you one of my go to simple recipes that kept me sustained through the past few months of craziness. It has been a staple in our house and make the perfect light summer meal. Enjoy.
So glad you're back! Are you going to be putting up the old recipes?
I most certainly will! Starting today with my go to meal in the last few months of utter chaos :)
WELCOME BACK!!!!!
Thanks so much! I am so glad life has settled down and that I can get back in the kitchen :) Most importantly I am glad to have time to finally read and be inspired by all the other great cooking blogs (like yours!) our there!
